This year, I did not receive a lot of Eid text messages (SMS). And I think it is mainly because people are more into uploading 'Eid Cards' in the Facebook and simply tag their friends and families. I agree that it is much easier and cheaper - or almost free of charge - than typing and sending or forwarding texts to a number of phone numbers.
To be honest, I don't really like it because I prefer wishes that are personalized, which will make people who receive it feel special and appreciated. Ironically, I too did upload an 'Eid Card' in the Facebook and tag my friends. Ops, too bad, isn't it? But how ever way you convey your wishes and apologies (posting Eid cards, texting Eid SMSes, calling your families and friends, speaking one-to-one, writing it in your blog, spamming your friends' wall on the Facebook, running around the village while shouting your wishes, etc), the most important thing is the sincere thought. I'm glad that I'm still remembered. :D
I would love to take this opportunity to thank each and every one who had wished me Eid Mubarak! It's unexpected that people I don't really remember sent me Eid messages. Special thanks to Ng Ka Ting, Iqkhmal, Syuks and Jhony for wishing me Eid Mubarak recently. I felt super happy to receive those wishes from them because it is totally unexpected!
Down here are what they had sent to me. That I only put up several SMSes, I hope the others who sent me SMSes would not feel offended. You are appreciated too :)
"Salam sejahtera. Hope to wish you early. Selamat hari raya aidilfitri:) semoga anda panjang umur dan sihat. Terima kasih banyak:) Maaf zahir batin. Keep in touch:) deepest regards from Kating Ng and family:)"
(From Ng Ka Ting)
--> You really made me smile with those smileys. :D

(From Syuks)
--> o_O Who is Tengku Persie? Forwarded from him? Er, it doesn't matter.
"Selamat Hari Raya,jgn lpa pos biskut.pi umah ah.hehe..."
(From Jhony)
--> Haha ;D
Gosh, I still keep the text messages I received last year. I got a lot of it, triple the number of texts I got this year. Time has changed the culture, isn't it?

2 dedicated readers raised up their hands:
that's true.. kurang la drp last year dpt sms.. tp dpt fb raya card.. i'm not the biggest fan.. of both sms and fb cards.. i prefer to say it face to face.. does that make me snobbish?
nope, you're surely not. you can always do so if you have the chance.
but some people cannot wish it face to face, and that is why they start to use other alternatives like SMS, Ecards, emails, etc.. ICT just helps people to connect with each other..
