SPM result

SPM.

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia. Or Malaysian Certificate of Education. Or some people may call, Sijil Paling Menakutkan (Most Horrifying Certificate).

My sister had just taken her SPM result in her secondary school today. I called her to know the details of her result. So she told me what she got and she insisted me not to tell my friends about it.

That's okay, I understand that. Well, she did not fail any paper, and that's great.

I suddenly remember something. It was a day before my SPM examination, yeaaars ago. I lived in a hostel.

Being terribly stressed, I called my mom. As soon as I heard her voice, I burst into tears. T_T

And my mom calmed me down by saying, "Laa, buat apa nak stres. Bukannya mati pun kalau gagal SPM"; translated as, "Aww, you don't have to be stressed. It's not like you're going to die if you fail your SPM".

I laughed and stopped crying. There's truth in what she said. Thanks mom for making me smile. :) *insert Smile song by Uncle Kraker here*

Well for all the students who had taken their SPM results today, be grateful to God. Whatever kind of result you get, remember that it is the result of your efforts you did before coming to the examination hall. If you studied hard, but you get bad results, reflect on what you have done. Maybe you neglected things that you should have paid attention to.
