nice quote

I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death.

Five Signs You Need To Do Your Assignment

Some people just find it difficult to start doing their assignments (or homework if you are still in school). Some always loves to put off the task because they know they have several long weeks before the due date. Days have passed and there's still no progress on the assignment.

Until the I-must-finish-the-assignment-today-no-matter-what-because-tomorrow-is-the-due-date day arrive, they begin to stretch their hands and seize the guidelines for the assignment and start doing it. And struggle to complete it before the next morning.

Often these people take caffeine to keep their eyes and brains awake late at night in order to finish the so irritating assignment, thus making them walk like a zombie the following day.

Sentap? Haha. Anyway I'm not going to talk about procrastinating an assignment this time. Obviously. You can reread the title of the post if you want a confirmation. Okay it may have some association with procrastination, but that is not the main point that I want to talk about in this entry.

Now, if you take a Linguistics or Grammar class, you will understand what I want to convey in this entry.

Let's have a look at what I call the Five Signs You Need To Do Your
(Linguistics) Assignment.

VS

1. You speak about lecturers and assignments when you are having a breakfast with your friend(s).

Don't you wonder why the assignment sounds more delicious that your pancakes coated with honey? You should realise that you're craving for an assignment, not those pancakes!

2. You speak with grammatically incorrect sentence structure. You sometimes speak something and later realise that what you say does not make sense. You also realise that your pronunciation of words (in any language that you know) is so bad that you sound like an illegal immigrants.

3. You feel uneasy to hang out with Ryan Higa your friends. You feel guilty because you have not started doing your assignment and at the same time you extremely want to go out and enjoy the delicious Bondi Burger of The Oprah Show Oporto and Chocolate Ice Blended of Easyway.

4. You dream of your lecturer asking you to hand in the assignment tomorrow, and you have not even started writing the title of the assignment in your Word Document. Or you dream that Ryan Higa asked you whether you have completed your Linguistics assignment. And as much as you want to say 'yes', you find it hard to tell lies to him and had to say 'no' - which would definitely gives him a negative impression on you. Ouch.

5. You write a blog post regarding the assignment. Telling your readers that you have not started doing your assignment. You tend to analyse your own writings when you write. You find that the word 'you' is used repeatedly and that shows that the person who you are talking about is YouTube YOU, Mys Tique!

Er, that's me. Ok-bye-I-want-to-do-my-linguistics-assignment.
